On March 10th the Harbor Point community celebrated the opening of the brand-new, locally owned organic market, Harbor Point Organic.

The new store, located at 14 Harbor Point Road, has a wide variety of organic grocery options, a specialty juice and smoothie bar, grab-and-go prepared foods, fresh soup, organic coffee, baked goods, artisan cheeses, fresh-cut flowers, and vegan and grain-free options.

“We like to think it’s a market for everyone,” said co-owner Mark Hill. “Judging by the volume of transactions we’re doing the first week, it’s been phenomenal. It’s been way beyond what I thought.”

Hill and his business partner, Parviz Shakiban, are “elated” to finally open Harbor Point Organic.

“As a resident and current owner of another business in Harbor Point, my business partner and I knew this location presented a great opportunity for us and the community,” Shakiban said in a news release. “The market will provide residents and the greater Stamford community a place to fulfill all of their grocery needs, no matter how big or small, right outside their doors.”

Shakiban is also the owner of Patisserie Salzburg, a European-style café with locations in Harbor Point, New Canaan, and Rye, N.Y., while Hill also owns Ridgefield Organics & Specialty Market in Ridgefield.

Hill noted that the market will offer outdoor seating as the weather grows warmer, coupled with a small, simple menu featuring sandwiches and other options.

Harbor Point Organics will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the winter and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the summer.
